One of Europe’s biggest transport companies, Waberer’s International Pte. Co, is investing in 1,000 new DAF CF and XF trucks to renew its fleet.
The order was signed at the IAA show in Hannover by György Waberer, Waberer’s International’s chairman and CEO, and Ron Bonsen, DAF Board of Management member and head of marketing and sales. Delivery of the vehicles will take place over the course of the current and coming year. Following the purchase, almost half of Waberer’s 3,300-strong fleet will consist of DAF trucks.
‘We’ve turned to DAF again because of their vehicles’ reliability, high quality, fuel efficiency and low maintenance costs,’ says Waberer. With this order the company will receive its three-thousandth truck from the Dutch manufacturer. ‘Other key selection criteria include the size and comfort of the cabs and the availability of key functionality that further improves safety. Our company focuses on long-distance transport for customers throughout Europe. The average distance per trip is 1,500 kilometres. This is why we’re keen to offer the best working conditions for our drivers. We’ve ordered all our trucks with a spacious cabin and equipped with all the necessary accessories for maximum comfort.’
‘It’s great recognition that one of Europe’s leading transport companies has once again chosen DAF,’ says Bonsen. ‘This agreement will further consolidate the two companies’ successful and long-term relationship. We’re proud to be the largest truck supplier to Waberer’s International – a company that has continually improved its efficiency.’
